See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I spoke with a few folks and the Sunday serving isn’t going to be a thing anymore, unless someone wants to start holding it down regularly. Trying to make it happen every week is tiring, hopefully we’ll be able to do more event servings and spontaneous servings this way.

I’ll start sending a group message and making a Facebook event for each serving. Send an email or call if you wanna cook some food.

We’ll also continue to store and process produce for folks to pick up and for the Ark and other partner organizations. I’ll start making an inventory and sending it out every week. Email us or join the FB group if you want that info.

When Souls Harbour is running again I can commit to a weekly serving. Our kitchen is for sharing so I trust you will earnestly consider coming down and making some soup.

Any one who tells you that Anarchists don’t believe in organisation is talking nonsense. Organisation is everything, and everything is organisation. The whole of life is organisation, conscious or unconscious. But there is organisation and organisation. Capitalist society is so badly organised that its various members suffer: just as when you have a pain in some part of you, your whole body aches and you are ill, not a single member of the organisation or union may with impunity be discriminated against, suppressed or ignored. To do so would be the same as to ignore an aching tooth: you would be sick all over.

Food Not Bombs has been operating more or less continuously for over 20 years in Halifax alone. We are a trusted community resource that reliably turns food that would otherwise have gone to waste into free scrumptious meals for all. This is in a spirit of solidarity and mutual aid and is open to everyone from any race, class, or creed. The food is consistently restaurant quality or better, served out of the finest yogourt containers the community can acquire.

The vast majority of the food is still fresh overstock from the markets when they close. Some items, like veg oil, are bought out of necessity. No guarantees, but the food we make is usually at least 50% organic. We will guarantee that it’s 100% Vegan and usually has gluten free, soy free, low acid, low sodium and sulphite free options. Let us know if you’re coming and have an allergy or if you can’t access the serving because of limited mobility and we’ll try to accommodate.

We also have two fridges which are always full of new produce which you can have for free. Please, for goodness’ sake, grab a couple pounds of organic tofu from us. There’s no shortage.
